There is not yet a well-developed nursery school system in the country, and childcare remains one of the main concerns for families in Greece. Schooling only becomes compulsory at the age of six.
As a newcomer to Greece you have two options when it comes to education – either to enrol your children in a school operating within the Greek system (where specialist schools are an option at secondary level), or to send them to one of the many international schools in the country.
